A very special camp, for very special players
hosted by a wonderful role model
Chris Drury, former Captain of the New York Rangers, has hosted a very wonderful camp for members of the Southern Connecticut Storm Special Hockey team for two years. Chris invited our team to join him for a private hockey camp and some fun and instruction with him.
Working one on one with the players, he was able to connect with each child. Chris has a very natural, easy going personality, and instinctively found a way to personally reach each of the players who attended in their own unique way.
Chris grew up skating at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the skating home of Storm Hockey. With the help of rink manager John Ferguson, Chris became aware of our very special hockey team and has invited us to attend a private camp with him.
Needless to say, the camp was a huge success; the athletes had a wonderful time, as did their families. Chris had pizza delivered from his restaurant, Colony Pizza, in Fairfield so everyone was well fed after camp.
We wish to thank Chris for his time with our special athletes, taking time out of his own personal schedule to work with the kids from Storm Hockey. We are so very grateful and very impressed that Chris remembers each child's name!
Thank you, Chris, for an un-forgetable experience!
